The Atus of Tahuti-Egyptian Tarot......THOTH

The Tarot had been in constant use from the time
Crowley's initiation into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, since
it also plays a prominent part in the Order's course of ritual,
meditation and study. To give it its correct name, The Atus of Tahuti,
is a Tarot system devised by Crowley in his later years and painted by
Lady Freda Harris. Throughout his magickal life, Crowley used the Tarot
almost daily but it wasn't until 1943 (four years before his death)
that he completed his own individualistic pack, drawing on images from
'The Book of the Law' and pouring the 'entire content of his magickal
mind' into his own Tarot.

In addition to its normal uses, individual cards can be used to focus
concentration during circle working as part of the altar equipment.
There are some not so subtle differences between the Atus of Tahuti and
normal Tarot packs, but studying it in conjunction with the published
essay, 'The Book of Thoth, we will progress quite considerably in
understanding the more obtuse of Crowley's magickal symbolism.

From 'The Book of Thoth' we take these evocative and hauntingly
beautiful thumb-nail sketches as Crowley's interpretation of the magick
summoning up of a life-time's work, as his own life was drawing to a
close.

This Egyptian Tarot is the key to all Thelemic philosophies and should
never be looked upon as a mere fortune-telling device. Each card of the
Major Arcana is a book within itself; every symbol, colour and figure
transforms imagery into a mystical adventure within the magickial
Universe.

Because this Tarot encapsulates Crowley's magickal life-time, we will find that it provides yet another 'key'.

In confessions ( a book) he wrote: 'The true significance of the Atis
of Tahuti also waits full understanding. I have satisfied myself that
these twenty-two cards compose a complete system of hieroglyphs
representing the total energies of the universe.'

I use these cards and have studies them they are amazing.

I am more than willing to do card readings for people on here but my readings take at least an hours as I use about 4 packs and am very thorough. Please check with Valkyrie that this is ok and It will be done in the chat room here if she says that is acceptable.
