Elbow Grease, anyone??

I used to be a manager of a charity shop some time ago. We had this girl working with us. She used to get me soooo wound up, that I seriously thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown!

So... one day, my (then) Assistant Manager sent her out on an errand. In the back room, he said to her "Can you go and get a can of Elbow Grease for me, please? This shop needs some maintenance done on it."

Well. We all know what elbow grease is, eh folks? It normally means hard work (let's put some elbow grease into it!)

Off she went... with a smile on her face. Off to get the elbow grease. Thirty minutes later, she came back. With an exasperated expression on her face, she looked at the Asst Manager and said "I looked in every shop I could. None of them had elbow grease in stock."

(Ahem. Cue giggles)

"I even went to one shop, looked about and then decided to ask a shop assistant if they had any. The young man there gave me an odd look and said he would speak to the manager. They both came back with odd grins on their faces, and said they had none."

(Cue me trying very hard not to laugh. I even stamped on own foot!)

"As I left the shop, I heard them laughing!"

(Cue me heading out the back door laughing my head off!)

I daren't tell you about the day she was asked to buy a can of "Rainbow colour Paint!"

I did eventually stop laughing... about an hour later. That is... until she came into my office to forward a complaint about the Assistant Manager sending her out on a 30min hike for a product she could not find!
